Ascorbic acid is just one of the versions of Vitamin C that is synthetic. It has quite a few antioxidant benefits. This acid can help to make the skin brighter and stimulate collagen production. This acid does lose its potency after time so it is important to use this acid before its shelf life has expired.

Azelaic acid is known for helping those with redness on their skin. Products that are made with azelaic acid are generally used for those who suffer from eczema and rosacea. These products can also be used for hyperpigmentation and melasma.
