What Ages Our Skin

What Ages Our Skin

We all want to look young and healthy as long as we can. This is why we would like to share with you a few facts about what ages our skin. Some of these factors may be unstoppable, but there are a few that we can do on our own to make sure we keep our skin looking its best.

 Watch What You Eat

Food is one of the biggest factors in the way that we age. If you are eating a lot of foods that are inflammatory, your skin may look much older than what it is. Inflammatory foods include: vegetable oils, margarine, sugary foods, red meat, and white bread. These foods can inflame your skin, which causes it to look much older than it is and causes wrinkles to appear. In order to balance out your diet, it is important to incorporate avocados, flaxseed oil, salmon, and olive oil. Getting more protein in your diet is also key. Try adding in some eggs and beans to keep your skin looking its best.

Alcohol is another reason that our skin begins to age. The more that we drink, the more we begin to see the signs of being tired and weary. Alcohol also dehydrates our bodies, which can make your skin age faster. If you are a heavy drinker, make sure that you are balancing out your water drinking with your alcohol drinking. If you drink three glasses of wine a day, try drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water to go with it. It must be a good balance in order for your skin to stay healthy.

Once you start changing the way that you eat and drink, you will not only start to feel better, but you will soon see major changes in your skin too.
