It's comedogenic

Coconut oil may be too much for oily skin

With an oily skin type, applying coconut oil may cause problems with acne as a result of too much oil remaining on the face.

It may not moisturize enough for those with dry skin

If you suffer from dry skin, coconut oil also may not be the best moisturizer for you. Though it seems like every skin type has a reason not to use coconut oil, you may decide otherwise once trying it on your skin.

However, coconut oil is usually not a heavy enough moisturizer for people with dry skin. This oil typically is not able to soak deep enough into the skin to provide the deep moisture that's needed. 

Extremely dry skin can be a difficult and painful problem to cope with, so test your options with heavier natural lotions meant for dry skin!

Coconut oil is an oil meaning there is a possibility that using coconut oil as a facial lotion can halt production of your own oil. 

For this with oily skin types, this could mean that your pores get clogged or that you start seeing the side effects of your natural oil diminishing and leaving you with dry, cracked skin. 

Dry skin types can also feel the downfalls of this issue as the little natural oil being produced can be diminished through this oil. 

Coconut oil doesn't have as many good ingredients as others can offer you

Perhaps one of the most important aspects of using coconut oil as a natural lotion on our face is that you could be missing out on some of the amazing vitamins other natural lotions can offer you.
